5x5 Workout Routine Examples



If you’re into fitness and working out, you’re probably always looking for ways to get a six pack or get your stomach more defined. If you are, then below are the top three ab workouts you should start doing. The workouts range from easy to intense.

Workout One: Easy Workout This workout is simple is to do. It is designed for beginners and only involves doing three exercises. The three exercises you will do are crunches, side-bends with a barbell and leg raises. You’ll start off by doing five sets of crunches, followed by five sets of side-bends with a barbell (no weight on it), followed by five sets of lying leg raises. As for reps, you want to do as many reps as you can per set. In between sets, take a rest period of 30-45 seconds.

In short, this workout involves:

The exercises you will do, and in this order, are crunches, sit-ups, dumbbell side bends and hanging leg raises. You’ll do six sets of crunches and then four sets of sit-ups. After that, you’ll do three sets of dumbbell side bends and then three sets of hanging leg raises. Try to do 15-25 reps per set of crunches, sit-ups, side bends and leg raises. Aim to do 15-25 reps per set, but if that’s too difficult for you to do, then do at least 10 reps per set.

To summarize the above, the workout consists of:

. 6 sets of crunches . 4 sets of sit-ups . 3 sets of dumbbell side bends . 3 sets of hanging leg raises . Rest 60 seconds between sets . Do 15-25 reps per set . 3-5 times per week

Workout Three: Intense Workout One of the best workouts to do for your abs involves doing giant sets and it is very intense, so don’t attempt it unless you know you can handle it. You will do six exercises for your abs and the exercises will be done consecutively. You’ll take a rest when you do the last exercise, as that will be one giant set. After you have rested, you’ll do the exercises again and rest before starting your third giant set. With that said, the six exercises you will do are:

. Crunches . Sit-ups . Standing crunches . Side bends with a dumbbell . Hanging leg raises . Planks

You will perform six giant sets in total, and the order you do the exercises in is up to you. The number of reps you do per exercise is also up to you.

Other Tips Remember, ab exercises helps build your abdominal muscles and they don’t burn a lot of fat. If you want to get a six pack, then you need to do ab exercises and you have to do cardio and eat right.
