The Best Workout Programs Available On The Market Today

There are so many workout programs available that it can become quite overwhelming to decide on just one. However, the mere fact that you are interested in exercising, means that you are committed to getting healthier and want a better quality of life. In today’s world this is truly admirable as it is so easy to get trapped in an unhealthy way of living. The roadways are packed with fast food restaurants and most of our groceries are filled with chemical filled processed foods. Exercise has become almost non-existent because people don’t have enough time between demanding jobs and family commitments. As you know, staying fit and healthy is tough work!

However, once you make a personal decision and commitment to exercise and healthy eating, then no one or nothing can stop you. Of course, even though you want to start exercising, if you don’t have a healthy diet to complement your exercise program, then you will be working out in vain. In order to see real physical results, the food you eat is three quarter of the solution. For example, if you want to lose weight and you exercise for 1 – 2 hours per day and then eat fried foods, pizza, desserts and anything you want, you won’t lose the weight! Similarly, even if you are at a healthy weight, but want to exercise to tone up or gain muscle, if you only exercise and eat badly, you won’t see much results.

So, before we go into the actually workout programs, we’ll briefly look at some of nutritional guidelines that will help you achieve your fitness goals. The first thing is to assess whether you want to lose weight, gain weight or lose fat and build muscle. Each one of these goals will require a different nutritional path, but the one element that remains the same is the type of foods you will be eating. These must be “clean” or unprocessed foods. There are many definitions of clean eating but my favorite is that you can eat anything that came from the ground or has a mother. This means fruits, vegetable and animal proteins such as chicken, beef, fish etc.

Turbo Jam by Beach Body

Now that you understand the necessity of clean and healthy eating, we will now look at a few of the best exercise programs that you can follow. The first one that I personally love is Turbo Jam by Beach Body. This program was created by Chalene Johnson and it mainly focuses on 20 – 45 minute workouts that use martial arts, kickboxing, dancing and a whole lot of fun. You get to kick, jump, squat, punch and other various moves to upbeat music that will make you feel like you’re having the time of your life. Her workout dvds also have a special “turbo” component where you do 1- 3 minute high intensity interval training to boost your metabolism and encourage fat loss. In these high intensity periods, you do the exercises and give it your all for that short period where you become completely breathless. The point is to exert yourself as much as you possibly could and then recover in the minutes after. The Turbo Jam workouts are extremely effective and I’ve personally lost over 40 lbs justby using them between 4 – 5 days per week.

P90X Workout

Another excellent workout program that we will look at is P90X. I’m certain that you’ve seen the infomercial at least once and this is one of the most effective fitness programs on the market. Of course, this program is recommended for people who are moderately active as a complete beginner might find this program a little too challenging. However, the P90X program is the one for you if you are looking to completely transform yourself and get the body of your absolute dreams. The P90X system involves 12 different workouts in a comprehensive 3 phase plan. Don’t worry, there are specific fitness guides and calendars that show you exactly which workouts you should do on each day. Best of all, you don’t need much equipment. All you will need is a small space that is at least 6 x 6 feet, dumbbells or a resistance band, a pull up bar and approximately 1 hour per day to workout. Some of the dvds focus on Kenpo, plyometrics, core synergetics whilst also working the major muscle groups andproviding enough cardio to make the extra fat melt off your body.

Workouts by Jillian Michaels

Next, we will look at the workout programs offered by one of my favorite celebrity trainers: Jillian Michaels. At first, I personally didn’t like her brash style, but after completing some of her workouts, I realized that her style actually helped me to push through my limits and make it through the workout! Sure, she is tough, but sometimes, you need that tough love to get you butt in gear. Also, her exercise programs work, as you can see from her amazing results on the “Biggest Loser” television show. Best of all, you don’t need to go to the Biggest Loser ranch to benefit from her training or have thousands of dollars to hire her. Her workout dvds are simply amazing and you have quite a few to choose from such as Body Revolution, 30 day Shred, one week shred, Extreme Shed and Shred, Yoga Inferno, Hard Body, Killer Abs and so much more.

Insanity by Shawn T

The final workout program that we will look at is Insanity by Shawn T. This workout is true to its name; it delivers insane results! It is a 60 day program that you can complete in the comfort of your home and in order to get the best results, you need to give it your all. This program was designed to increase your muscle definition and help you drastically lose body fat. Most people start seeing results within one week of starting the Insanity program, and you can too if you truly give it your best effort. Most of the exercises use your own body weight for resistance and you don’t need any additional equipment. There is a lot of cardio and jumping involved, so if you suffer from joint pain and problems, then this may not be the workout for you. At the end of the program you will be stronger, leaner, more agile and certainly more fit and shredded.

In closing, there are many amazing workout programs to choose from and the hardest part is getting started. Once you make up your mind, nothing can stop you but you!
