Committing to your home workout routine is a big step, and I’m here to help you 100%. My biggest advice for success with your home workout program is, surround yourself with support.
My home workout routine groups are a great way to achieve your goals with like-minded peers, but in addition to that, there are countless ways to find fellow wellness travelers. Tell your friends and family what you’re doing. The good ones will have your back. Some of them might even join in.
My second piece of advice is, make this a lifestyle shift. Supplements are not magic elixirs. Just drinking a protein shake isn’t going to mystically melt pounds, clear your skin, and help you get organized. A successful supplementing regime is part of a larger overall change that also includes a dedicated mindset, proper (or at least improved) nutrition, and a consistent home workout routine.
Another big part of success is to start a journal and write in it everyday. Journaling is the ideal way to stay accountable to your goals during your home workout program. A recent study in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics found that people who wrote down everything they ate lost significantly more weight than those who didn’t.
Why? Because with everything else going on in your life, it’s easy to forget the nibbles off your daughters plate in the morning, your afternoon snack of almonds, and exactly what you ate for dinner. Knowing you’ll have to write down the fact that you ate three chocolate mini bars at work tends to give you pause when you see that bowl on a co-workers desk.
