Workout Routines For Quadriceps

Hello there! If you are new here, you might want to for updates on this topic. Powered by

Have you heard ?  I’m sure you have as there is a lot of buzz about it on social media.  In just 2 short weeks, I’ll be starting my journey with Piyo and I want to invite you to do it alongside with me!  I’ve been lucky enough to do some Piyo before at the gym and get a taste for what this program will be like.  If you’re thinking that it’s easy and not a good workout, you’re so wrong!  You’ll be sweating and gaining strength in each move you do.

I have always been a fan of the hard core workouts like Insanity, Asylum, Body Beast, etc because I like to feel the burn and the sweat.  But earlier this year, I start to be plagued with injury after injury.  My knee, my back, and my neck were all injured within 3 months of each other.  It was horrible not being able to workout!  However, I did learn an important lesson from it…I need to add in more flexibility training into my weekly routine.  I needed to start taking better care of my joints and muscles, or else I would be seeing more of these injuries. Since adding in some yoga to my routine, I’ve noticed an increase in my flexibility as well as my strength.  I know this program is going to improve my range of motion even more so that I can excel in all areas of my fitness. I am so excited for Piyo to be released!

Who is Piyo for? This program is for everyone!  Whether you are just starting your fitness journey or you’re an athlete, you can benefit from this program.  It is meant to improve flexibility and strength while burning tons of calories at the same time.  The great part is you don’t need any equipement and it’s low-impact, so if you don’t like jumping, this workout is easy on your joints!  Piyo is designed to give you long, toned muscles and totally transform your body.

Piyo was created by Chalene Johnson, one of my favorite trainers.  She also created two of my other favorite programs, ChaLEAN Extreme and TurboFire.  Chalene created Piyo to help with her own flexibility and strength.  It is inspired by yoga and Pilates.

What are the workouts?

The workouts range from 25 – 45 minutes in length. There are 8 different workouts, each targeting a specific muscle group.

Align (46 mins): Gives you the fundamentals Upper Body (20 mins): This upper body focused workout helps your strengthen and stretch your entire body. Lower Body (20 mins): This will shape and tone all of your lower body muscles, including your glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves in a gentle get effective way. Sweat (35 mins): a traditional Piyo workout that is fast paced with bodyweight strength training and ab work. Core (30 mins): a workout that focuses on your abs and targets all muscles of the abs and back. Drench (45 mins): a total-body workout that will have you burning tons of calories and rev up your metabolism. Strength Intervals (25 mins): this workout is designed to tone the whole body without using weights. Sculpt (30 mins): an intense full-body workout without the use of any equipment.
