5pts Hi Coach, I'm facing a dilemma. I am finishing my 3 round of P90x (continuously), but didn't get the results I wanted (I still have a lot of fat, my BF ~ 25%). I did loose some weight (about 12 lb), though and look much better than before I even started P90X. The main fault of not reaching results I wanted is nutrition (I didn't track it, cheated with food many times, etc). I read your other post (body fat vs. bulk), that for person who has lots of BF and wants to be bulk, it is better to shred fat first and then concentrate on building muscle. Do you think that in my case it is better next (when I finish my P90X in 2 more weeks) to do Insanity (since it is supposed to be very effective for shredding fat) and then to re-do P90X or P90X3(I just bought) or P90X/Insantiy hybrid? What do you recommend? My current weight 200lb (was 209 lb when I started 3rd round of P90X), 5'11, almost 35 year old. I'm really tired to be overweight (I've been like this all my life). I'm reallyjealous when I see the results from others when lots of overweight people became really ripped just after 90 days, but I am doing almost 270 days (never missed a workout) and still the same like Day 1. My wife even makes jokes that P90X had failed on me... 5pts Also coach I was wondering if you lost any face fat in completing these intence programs like p90x and your hybrids once your bf dropped. 5pts Hey coach, I just ordered tge reg insanitt verssion, I am about 155 with a little bit of a gut not to big. I want insanity to get me shedded, afterwords would you recommend the asylum or p90x to bulk up a little and trim more bf. 5pts Hey Coach Wayne, I am getting into college athletics next year, and really want to do the insanity/P90X hybrid because not only do I want to get some great cardio in, but it would be also nice to bulk up as well. I have seen a few schedules that look good out there, but is there anything you specifically recommend, besides just swapping out the P90X cardio with the Insanity cardio? Thanks 5pts Hey Coach Wayne what would you say is a harder Ab workout Insane Abs or Ab Ripper X? I got Insanity because I was doing P90x previously and my knee started to hurt and my doctor forbade me from lifting weights so I decided to go with Insanity. BTW I am 14 years old and I'm doing this to get in shape for football 5pts I started off with insanity last year around may 2010. I did not complete the two months because in a month and a half I lost 30lbs and I remember the day I was so happy that I have reached 125(was 155) on the day of my son's birthday which was July the 8th 2010. INSANITY ROCKS!! 5pts Hey Manny! No, it's not supposed to be like that. If you bought it from Beachbody, they will gladly replace it. Unfortunately that type of thing happens a lot with fake copies of the DVD's though, so if you bought yours from eBay or something you are out of luck because they are most likely pirated copies. 5pts Hey Coach, Just finished my first week of Hybrids. My questions is about the Insane Abs DVD. Can you tell me if i got a bad DVD or is that the way the work-out is supposed to be like? The work-out would start a exercise, then go to the next, he would then show how to do the exercise and then the start of a new exercise would begin. It was confusing and i didn't know if it was because they were including work-out from different Insanity Workout work-out. 5pts Is that worth it? How much? And could I get it from u? For a discount ? XD jk on the last part haha 5pts if it is out in time before my birthday then ill go with the new version! thank you, i was looking into Insanity Workout deluxe and i noticed the pricing was the same 129 as the original so whats the dif? 5pts Almost done with a full round of P90X !! I actually complete my whole 90 days a week before my birthday. So for a birthday gift I'm asking my parents for a new workout DVD program to add to my routine. Which do u reccomended? P90x plus, 1-1's, or Insanity Workout ? I want something that keeps me busy like the doubles routine i did. 5pts alright so ill keep bringing 1000% everytime! Thanks Wayne 5pts Okay becuase i was reading up on the heart zones and what they do and they sd that 80-90% used more glycogen , so by going all out my body will be burning more fat at rest? 5pts Hey COach i have a question If my goal is to loose the last couple of pounds of fat and im using Insanity Workout as my main workouts should i be working out at a heart rate of 60-70% 139 – 152 70-80% 152 – 166 80-90% 166 – 179 i read that if i work out at 60-70 im using fat as a source of fuel , if i work out at lets say 80-90% we use glycogen as fuel source , ur one to know that Insanity Workout ususally has our heart rate at 80-90% please let me know Wayne thanks and god bless 5pts Derek, I think you are fine without a rest day. I don't take them either. I feel like something is wrong when I don't get the juices flowing each and every day. 5pts Thanks Coach ur site inspires me and as u know i wanna make a video at the end of Insanity Workout Do u think by not taking a rest day it that im overtraining , i get about 9hours of sleep a night and nutrition is at 2300cals 40/40/20 Let me know thanks 5pts Hey Coach Hope everything is well and ur ripping up for the big day Had a question Wayne , Im doing the full Insanity Workout program right now because my main goal is obviously to become as ripped as possible , im already at about 6-8% bf and im also doing it becuase i have a half marathon in may.. right now im doing full Insanity Workout with 2days of P90X lifting ,and 1 day of long distance running , If i were to do only Insanity Workout and running do you think i would loose alot of muscle .. I find that Insanity Workout running is very taxing on the joints and hip flexors thats why i only run once a week right now , Will Insanity Workout keep my running condition at its peak Thanks Alot for ur feedback 5pts Stel, subbing 2 lift days is very smart in my opinion to maintain muscle mass while doing Insanity Workout. You will still get in great cardio shape with that schedule, so go for it! 5pts Hi Coach! With The Asylum just around the corner I have decided to do another round of Insanity Workout. I have have just completed your Perfect Storm hybrid which was EXCELLENT and got great results - PBs on all exercises while dropping fat. The previous time I completed Insanity Workout my fitness level increased greatly, lost some fat but also some muscle mass. This time through I am thinking of adding 2 lift days - a Back & biceps day and a shoulders and arms day so 2 lift days, 3 Insanity Workout with 1 yoga day in between the lift days and a rest day. What do you think? Am I messing too much with the Insanity Workout formula as my main aim is to get my fitness up for the Asylum. I am not a fan of the upper body Insanity Workout though will push through it if you recommend it. 5pts My Insanity Workout just came in tonight there CW along with 1 on 1 Plyocide and P90X+. Can't wait to get after it. I am so pumped up. Push Play & Push Hard Jon S. 5pts I agree with cw. its a great cardio workout. i did 2 rounds of Insanity Workout and lost a ton of weight but was hurting for some resistance training cause i wasnt building mass". great for losing the pounds. 5pts I've done the full Insanity Workout as well, and let me tell you, if I could tell Shaun T myself, I would personally thank him for this INSANE workout. I just got back from our annual ski trip, and I tore the slopes up this year!! I didn't have to stop and catch my breath, nor was my legs on fire like years past. This workout routine works!!! I still use it with my P90X workouts because I know that nothing can give me a cardio workout like Insanity Workout!! Thanks Coach and Shaun T!!!! 5pts I completed the 60 Days of Insanity Workout - Coach Wayne is absolutely correct. My advise to all those who are going to start Insanity Workout - make sure you warn your wife about the affects of Insanity Workout before you begin to start a workout. ie: large quantities of sweat! I can't begin to tell you what happened when I was finished the DVD workout and went to grab a water when my wife walked into the room and there, in the middle of the floor, was a huge puddle of sweat. She threw a nutty! Make sure you have a towel and some Fantastic to keep your wife happy!!!!!! 5pts I've completed Power 90 and P90X. I started Insanity Workout earlier this month. Man this is a kick butt program. Shaun T pushes everyone so hard, even the kids in the video can't keep up. To help maintain at least some muscle mass I am also doing the Isanity Upper Body Weight Training on the Cardio Recovery days and adding P90X Shoulders & Arms or Back & Chest on Sunday and another day in the week. For anyone looking to step their game up this is definitely the program for you. Can't wait to see what is in store for everyone with Asylum. If you've seen the YouTube preview even Shaun T has transformed his body with Asylum. He definitely looks leaner and more defined when compared with Insanity Workout. 5pts Hey Wayne, I did notice that.. I bought the base package and recovery drink last night.. I'll not need Insanity Workout until end of January but I may incorporate a couple of the cardio workouts into my current plan so I can learn them a little. 5pts Cardio-X is really the easiest of cardio workouts.. Its meant to be used in P90X doubles or on recovery week.. If you are acing it though, hopefully you bring it equally as hard in Plyo and Kenpo.. Insanity Workout is next on my list to do a hybrid workout.. Still not certain on what to buy, the standard Insanity Workout, or deluxe version.. 5pts Next on my list...I did Cardio X tonight and felt like I didn't get as good a workout as I would have liked. I'm halfway through P90X so I guess its a good thing that the workouts are getting easier? 5pts I'm scared!! but excited at the same time. In about 3 weeks i'll be over with my 2nd round of P90X so i will switch to a full Insanity Workout round, i'm only afraid of my left knee since i had a broken ACL surgery a couple years ago, and still it hurts when i push myself on plyo and legs & back days, but thank you coach wayne for providing the motivation of facing risks with my forehead up!! 5pts i saw a preview on youtube on Asylum, seems he's including pull ups and some free weights as well. for most of us, we always looked at Insanity Workout as a cardio intense routine, looks like like its goin to be mixed now.... 5pts Some of you may be ready for The Asylum--in Shaun T's own words, this is not to be taken lightly. It takes Insanity Workout to a whole new level. I posted a link in the forum where you can sign up to receive an email notification when Asylum becomes available...it's post under Discussion Group---> Asylum Can't Wait to see what Shaun T has in store for us 5pts its tough tough tough!! is all i can say! but now P90x cardio routines are easier than when i started P90x, so thats good.... :) 5pts Insanity Workout is an amazing workout. It is hard hard hard, but it is hard in such a good way. And even though it is an insane workout, you don't feel bad when you flop to the ground mid set, because you look up at the TV and half the people in the video are too. Thats when you grab a sip of water, walk it out for a couple seconds, and jump back in. 5pts "That sh$@ is buh-na-nas!" This is my favorite Shaun T. Line! So looking forward to Asylum! "I'm smiling because I love it!" 5pts Have you regularly stayed over a 180 bpm heart rate during your Insanity Workouts? I'm about the same size as you (6'4" 210 pounds: not ripped, though) and I am regularly in the 170s-190s during Insanity Workout. I don't really ever see a "recovery" unless I completely stop and sit on the floor and even that takes well over a minute. Is it ok if my HR stays around 180 the entire time? Usually, my HR monitor will shows an average of 160-something and that is including the stretching which is a long period of a much lower HR. Can I be over-training or is it ok? I think I'd 'dig deeper' if I didn't psych myself out so much thinking that my heart isn't supposed to maintain 170-190 bpm for an forty minutes to an hour. 5pts next on my list. 5pts Gotta agree, Coach. I LOVE the Insanity Workouts. Shaun T WILL make you DIG DEEPER. moderator 5pts I would not do just Insanity. P90X/Insanity would be great and you know what you need to do. You need to get serious about nutrition. Start tracking. Set up MyFitnessPal with a deficit and Fat Shredder. It's time to do it man! P90X hasn't failed you.... it's up to you now! You can do it! 5pts Hey Paul, as you lose body fat, you lose it everywhere (face included). 5pts Hey Paul! if you would like to add some muscle mass after this round of Insanity, definitely go with P90X. It's perfect for that. 5pts Hey Smith! Great question! I will be posting a pure P90X/Insanity hybrid schedule on Friday morning with the specific routines I recommend. I have my Round 2 hybrid posted under "Coach W's Tips" --> "Workout Zone", but it has other programs mixed in too. So tune back in Friday! 5pts Hey Joey, Insane abs is harder. It's 33 minutes instead of 16. And there is a cardio component. So your doctor told you not to do P90X because of your knee, but Insanity is okay? There is a lot more impact on the knees with Insanity than P90X. Every workout is like PlyoX - tons of jumping and agility moves. Be careful! 5pts Hey Leo, yes, I think the deluxe videos are great. 5pts Insanity Workout deluxe is a little more, but you get 13 DVD's instead of 10 (you get Insane abs, Max Sports, and Upper body weight training). 5pts Go with Insanity Workout Leo! Or Asylum (the crazy new version of Insanity Workout which will be out later this month!) 5pts For several hours after you stop, yes! 5pts Hey Derek, the old zones of target heart rates don't apply to HIIT like Insanity Workout. You want to push as hard as you can, which will put you way past your supposed "fat burning zone". But what they've found is that by pushing yourself in this way, your body will keep burning fat much longer after your workout than if you just get into the zone and hold it there for a while. HIIT is the way to go! So ignore the zones and go all out! 5pts Hey Derek, since I don't run that kind of distance, it's hard to say. Insanity Workout definitely keeps your cardio conditioning at a very high level, but it's probably important to still get some long runs in (just because steady-state running is a different type of exercise than the HIIT of Insanity Workout). One day a week of running may be all you need though since you are cranking out Insanity Workout. Can't wait to see you shredded! You are already close! 5pts Awesome Jon!! 5pts Hey John, if you buy the base package for $119, the 3 DVD "deluxe upgrade" is only $45 extra (which is a better deal than buying the whole deluxe package for $239) 5pts Hey Nathan. No, that's fine! And just for kicks try wearing your HRM for a few hours afterward ... you'll keep burning tons of calories doing nothing! Cuz after keeping your HR up high like that for nearly an hour, your system stays revved up!
