I am fired UP!

Just got my gym equipment for the garage and already cranked a using ONLY a barbell as I haven't set up my rack just yet.

What did I get, you ask? Nothing but the basics...

- Westside Power Rack

- Olympic Bar

- LOTS of bumper plates (gotta make sure the kids don't get hurt

I already have a climbing rope and rings, as well as a sled, power wheel and some other goodies. But the garage is reserved for old school work, nothing else will suffice.

Brings me back to the origins of , training from my parents freezing cold garage using the basics and getting jacked and strong as hell in the process.

I remember those days, training with 2 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of sweats, 3 - 4 sweat shirts, gloves and a winter hat. Who's gonna steal YOUR thunder? NO ONE.... unless you let them. Don't stray from the basics, they always WIN.

Cranking the ol' school 5 x 5 or variations of 5 x 5, bringing me to the same rough and tumble 25 rep totals.

8 x 3 reps

6 x 4

4 x 6

After speaking with Jim Wendler on training during our interview for & talking old school strength & die hard commitment with I am inspired again to go head to head with the heavy barbell and basics.

Don't worry, have NO fear, I will continue my attack and relentless pursuit of as well.

If you haven't listened to Jim's interview at you might be smoking crack, it's a kick ass interview and inspired the heck out of me.

Wendler delivers some nasty truth in this interview, 57 minutes long. If you fear the truth, then do NOT sign up.

These basic routines always deliver.... They are ALL great workouts and set - rep patterns for packing on muscle and strength that the "normal" people never dare follow these workouts.

They're ALL following the "normal workouts" while Undergrounders are attacking the lifts that force our muscles to wake up and take notice.

Yesterday I practiced some O lifts and although FAR from good (not even gonna use the word "perfect") it felt awesome to grip and rip a new barbell in the confines of my garage.

One of the lifts that always packed on nasty muscle onto my back and shoulders was the muscle clean and the variations...

- muscle clean and press

- power clean and press

Ground to overhead should be a standby in your lifting, the results can't be denied.

It doesn't look pretty but in essence you just rip that weight up and jump as aggressively as possible to get the weight up.

If ALL you had was a barbell you could become a BEAST, you gotta WANT it, you can't cower to the lack of equipment or lack of anything.

Old school Arnold used to travel to the woods with a training partner and some lady companions along with a bar, 250 lbs of weights and a hefty surplus of meat and wine.

They would squat the weight for endless sets, some 30, 40 and even 50 sets until they could no longer stand let alone squat.

Afterwards they would eat their food and drink wine and live like Gladiators.

They broke the "rules" of lifting and said "F**K it" and made it happen.

Barbell basics for me one day, then Bodyweight Bodybuilding the next day and the 3rd day is a rest day.

= BEAST Mode.

Peace
