Hi friends!
It finally feels like 2015 to me. We’re home and unpacked and I even found the motivation to pull out everything in my closet, try it all on, and create piles to giveaway. I love the fresh start of a new year! Tomorrow we start back to our normal routine. We had such a great trip but after ten days away I’m looking forward to a schedule again.
One more cousins pic- they had so much fun together!
It’s a busy week… the reset challenge kicks off tomorrow as well as Boston marathon training. I got my training schedule this week (more on that soon!) and the knowledge that I’ll be picking up the intensity for the next few months created a desire to take it relatively easy this week. I almost skipped my “long” run entirely but did mange to get in 10 yesterday. The recap:
Sunday: off (with family)
Monday: 8 run with 8 x 400 at the track (1:33-1:35 repeats)
Tuesday: 6 miles easy
Wednesday: 15 minute at home workout (burpees, squat jumps, push ups, mountain climbers)
Thursday: off- New Year’s day “Christmas” with the other side of the family
Friday: 6 hilly miles (9:15 pace)
Saturday: 10 easy miles (8:35 pace)
I was planning to run a mile with my niece and 4 yo on New Years day but the day got away from us. All the cousins were in one house for the whole day and we did our gifts, big meal and catching up. By the time we had a chance to get out it was dark and cold and didn’t happen.
I was not feeling the workouts this week. I know a lot of it was due to some crazy sleep. I just cannot sleep well when I’m not in my own bed, and apparently neither can my girls! A few nights I fed the baby at 3 am and never really fell back to sleep. Ugh. But I’m slowly getting caught up.
For meal planning, this is the week the 21 day reset begins! I had a number of meals planned and our freezer was stocked up with good meats and veggies for quick options. However, the deep freezer was unplugged when my husband came home for a painting project and never got plugged back in… so it sat for 3 days and we had to throw out most of it. So sad. Another grocery trip is needed asap!
On the bright side, our living room is freshly painted. We moved in to a bold yellow color and were getting tired of it. The calming blue/grey is much more our style.
Sunday: Last whatever-we-want-t0-eat meal
Monday: Rosemary wild salmon, roasted root veggies and sweet potato
Tuesday: Veggie Quinoa Chili
Wednesday: Baked sweet potatoes stuffed with leftover chili broccoli
Thursday: Fish tacos roast cauliflower and easy guacamole
Friday: Chicken Fajita Bowls
Saturday: Leftovers or out
How often do you go through your closets and simplify?
Have you ever had to throw out freezer contents?
