I’m going to Planet Fitness today with my best friend Allison. It’s a gym that lets a friend for go for free at any time. She bought a membership with her husband, and it’s a great deal for me. I’m sure that it’s more encouraging for her. I suppose that’s why friends can go along. People are more likely to sign up for gym memberships if they have someone to go with. It’s a marketing tactic, but that’s fine with me. I won’t sign up because it’s too far away, and I don’t have extra money. If I were going to join a gym, it would be local. It wouldn’t be 15 miles from home no matter how great it is. If I didn’t have a friend to go along, I’d rather find a good deal on a recumbent exercise bike and workout at home. I should be working out. I’ll Likely Use the Treadmill Most of the Time Other than a physical therapy facility, I’ve never been to a gym. I don’t know how most of the equipment works. I can’t use most of the upper body equipment anyway. I had major neck surgery about 10 monthsago, and I can’t risk hurting myself with heavy weights. I’m not fully healed. Even if I was, I have to limit myself. Maybe I’ll see something that I can use. They must have stretchy bands and other resistance gear for all fitness levels.     I’ll Probably Use the Exercise Bikes Too I’ll probably just use the treadmill and an exercise bike at the gym. I’ve always liked stationary bikes, especially those with a fan. I’ve written about an Expresso Bike that has a screen with 30 or more tours and off-road courses. I’d love to give that a try! I biked long distances many years ago. I rode about 30 miles total from Highland IN to Crown Point IN and back again. It was a breeze back then. I’m far from physically fit now, but I would enjoy riding an exercise bike with a virtual reality screen. Maybe I’ll find a good deal on a recumbent exercise bike someday and get back into cycling again. I don’t know what Planet Fitness offers, but I’m going to find out. I’ve always wondered what they hadwhen driving past. The building is absolutely huge! I don’t imagine that it will be crowded since most people work during the day. I should be working, but I haven’t had a day off in a long time. I’ll share my experience later.   Related
